The golden age is dawing...

Pipe and Slippers Festival 2008

The first Pipe and Slippers Festival will be taking place at 2.30pm on Sunday 7 September in Brockwell Park, at the stage next to the cafe on top of the hill.

It's outdoors, so bring a blanket to sit on and a few tinnies/flask of tea, and maybe an umbrella just in case.

We've pulled out all the stops for this one: Stuart Silver's Ukelele Orchestra, top music from Alice Gun, BB and the Dead Dog, and Citizen Helene, readings from Jacqueline Walker (Pilgrim State), local heroes Paul Ewen and Debi Alper, surreal musings from Wes White, and poetry from Katrina Naomi.

All that plus disc-spinning from DJ Grendon, DJ Fred Weaver, DJ Alice Lloyd, and banter from your convivial hosts for the afternoon, Tom Levine and Paddy Steel.

...all for a mere five of your English pounds...

...and while you're waiting for the big day to arrive, why not befriend us at www.myspace.com/pipeandslippers?
